In June 2006 KOKO GmbH & Co. KG opened the Institute for Applied Corneotherapy (IAK) in Leichlingen. It has been enlarged in 2008 by further 200 m² seminar rooms and focuses on:

• continuous development of the corneotherapeutical concept for the cosmetic practice ("Extended Corneotherapy").
• studies on the dermatological skin care and skin diagnosis - including testing the efficacy of new products.
• development of treatment procedures with regard to cosmetic and medical indications. Please look at the mediathek for examples of treatment procedures.
• training seminars for professionals in the fields of cosmetics, pharmacy, dermatology and wellness on a regular base.
• cosmetic and medical treatments.

In summary the IAK links the disciplines of chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry, medicine, cosmetic and make-up art on an interdisciplinary level.
