Opened in June 2006 by Kosmetik Konzept KOKO GmbH & Co. KG in Leichlingen, the Institute of Applied Corneotherapy (IAK) focuses on:

• the further development of the corneotherapeutical concept for the cosmetic practice ("Extended Corneotherapy")
• research and development of dermatological skin care and skin diagnosis - including studies on the efficacy of new products
• development of treatment procedures with regard to cosmetic and medical indications
• training seminars for professionals in the fields of cosmetics, pharmacy, dermatology and wellness on a regular base
• cosmetic and medical treatments

In summary the IAK links the disciplines of chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry, medicine, cosmetic and make-up art on an interdisciplinary level.
